Elitist, one of the innovators of modern technical metalcore, has released a brand new song called “Vision Red”. Along with the release of the song came the announcement that their self-titled album will be released on June 30th. You can check the new song out after the jump.
This song isn’t bad metalcore by any stretch of the imagination, but it definitely doesn’t feel like it has the signature Elitist sound anymore. This is not the same band that brought us the classic Caves EP, nor are they trying to bring us that EP again. I can’t fault them for the transition that they made with their Between the Balance EP, as this route will more than likely lead them to more success. I mean, hell, it got them signed to Equal Vision right? I just wish the band had added new elements to their signature sound instead of stripping and simplifying it to the point that it becomes what the band was trying to avoid in the first place: generic.
