When a band includes Sunn O))) contributor Greg Anderson in its ranks, two things should be self-evident: the music will be slow and incredibly heavy. This is certainly the case with Goatsnake – for whom Anderson plays guitar – and their first album in fifteen year Black Age Blues. The band have released a new track from the album titled “Grandpa Jones,” which may be streamed after the jump:
Fans of Anderson’s affinity for drone may be disappointed by the tracks standard stoner/doom theme, but fans of Saint Vitus, newer Electric Wizard and other similar acts will most likely find enjoyment from the track. Black Age Blues will be released through Southern Lord on June 2nd and may be pre-ordered here.
