Norwegian black metal and jazz infused industrial outfit SHINING are moving forward with plans to release their seventh studio album for release later this year as the band announce their signing to Spinefarm Records. Parting ways with Prosthetic, the band will be pushing the yet-to-be-titled new record through a worldwide deal with Spinefarm and the promise of extensive international touring in support. Fingers crossed on another proper US tour!

For the new record, SHINING has teamed up once again with Blackjazz and One One One producer Sean Beavan (who also fittingly worked with acts such as Marilyn Manson and Nine Inch Nails) and promises a record that brings the best of the trademark SHINING sound explored on the band’s most recent output. Says frontman Jorgen Munkeby:

“Our new album is one of our most varied, encompassing the whole gamut of what we do, from the sinister ferocity and experimentation of ‘Blackjazz’ to the more focused songwriting of ‘One One One’. It really is the culmination of all the best elements in the Blackjazz world!”

So basically, the new SHINING record is exactly what we’ve been hoping for. The record will soon be mastered and it won’t be much longer before we get to hear some new material. The new record is slated to be available late this year. More info when it comes in!
