Author & Punisher tour

One of the most unique acts in modern music, Author & Punisher‘s brand of industrial doom is noteworthy not only for project mastermind Tristan Shone’s unique compositions (see our review of his last album Women & Children),  but for the fact that Shone creates his music on manipulated machinery of his own design. Anyone who has not experienced Author & Punisher now has the perfect opportunity to do so, as the project’s fourth album – Melk En Honing – will be released through Housecore Records on June 30th. Head past the jump to read Shone’s thoughts on the record and see dates for his upcoming North American tour:

Shone shared the following comments when discussing Melk En Honing:

“Although the album won’t be out for a couple months, this tour is very special in that I am debuting many of the new tracks. For me, the wounds are still fresh and I think that rawness seeps through physically and emotionally in the performance. This album and experience has intensified my music for me and people will feel it in their chest as I do.”

Melk En Honing was produced by Phil Anselmo, who owns Housecore Records and is (of course) famous for fronting Pantera and Down. Anselmo shared that:

“Tristan Shone is the epitome of what Housecore Records stands for, and looks for in musical expression: absolute originality and innovation. It is our complete pleasure to facilitate such a fantastic, artistic mind and expression of bombastic works. There is no pigeonholing this man’s art.”

At the present moment, there is no information available about the album’s track listing or cover art, and pre-orders have not yet been made available. As Shone stated, though, new material from Melk En Honing may heard live on Author & Punisher’s upcoming North American tour. The final three dates of the tour will include an extended appearance at Psycho California Festival, where Shone will provide musical interludes throughout the three-day event.
