It’s no secret that Nile’s George Kollias is an absolute animal behind the drum kit and one of the most universally-respected names in the realm of mind-bending speed in death metal. What may have been lesser-known, however, is that he apparently knows how to play every instrument in a standard metal set up and has been working on solo material for years now! You can hear that there’s more than strong Nile vibes present. It is by no means a departure in style, but definitely showcases plenty of atmospheric moments, a killer guest guitar solo by Rotting Christ’s George Emmanuel, and more snare hits than you can possibly remember. If you can’t wait the few more months until Nile’s latest LP, have this on repeat for now.
