We previously talked about Japanese crazy-blackened-I-don’t-even-know-how-to-classify-them-but-I-know-I-love-them band Sigh and their upcoming tenth album Graveward. They had previously released a demo of ‘Out of the Grave’ for a compilation, but they’ve now released the final version with a video and guest vocals from Trivium frontman Matt Heafy.
The song is pretty great, and Matt’s vocals are very different from his usual style. There are traces of the band’s sounds from several albums, but it’s overall just inventive and fresh as usual, including their usual fare of weird instrumentation, sax solos and just overall trippiness. And Sigh have themselves said that this song isn’t representative of the entire album’s sound, which will be very diverse as usual.
