Not long ago, Dance Gavin Dance announced they would be releasing their new album, Instant Gratification, on April 14th. Luckily, we do not have to wait that long to hear new music from the group. A lyric video for the fourth track of the record, ‘On the Run’, has been released for immediate insertion into our ears and eyes. Check it out after the jump.
This track is like nothing I’ve heard from the band before. Every album holds a slightly different sound, but this is the most drastic change I’ve heard the band make sonically. It’s got this incredibly poppy flavor, but it doesn’t feel forced at all. It starts out as you would expect, then it slowly transitions to this huge track with gang vocals. The clean vocals are also incredibly clear in a way that I have not heard on any previous album of theirs. The mix is impeccable and I’m happy that Kristofer Crummett is producing yet another Dance Gavin Dance record. This is shaping up to be another excellent album from the band and as a long time fan, I could not be any happier right now.
