White Arms of Athena are preparing to release their transformative new self-titled sophomore album next month, which will see the band trading in their Between the Buried and Me inspired sound for something more earthy, a la Torche and Intronaut. The leap, while a bit alarming for fans of their debut album Astrodrama, totally suits the band, and is accentuated by production from Kurt Ballou.The jarring first single ‘Heavy Sleep‘ immediately helped settle expectations for White Arms going forward as brooding and psychedelic, and now another new track, ‘On The Edge‘, further captures that very tone. White Arms of Athena will be out December 2nd through Prosthetic Records.
