I know this band is pretty divisive, as the last time I posted about Japanese progressive metalcore/electronica band Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas people either really hated it or loved it. Well, for those of you who did, they’re coming out with a new album titled Phase 2 on the sixth of August, and they have two singles out already with videos which you can check out after the jump.
Now, the key to appreciating FALILV is regarding the extremely autotuned vocals as yet another instrument, like keyboards. If you can get over that, their music is pretty great, and 2012’s All That We Have Now being one of my all-time favorite albums is testament to that. The new singles are just as great as the stuff from that album, so I’m very excited for Phase 2. The bass in the earlier riffs in ‘Thunderclap’ and the keyboard stuff later in the song is pretty great, and ‘Virtue and Vice’ is overall a really solid song with a great groove.
