As you may have noticed, at the behest of our wallets, we’ve been highly saturated by news regarding Finnish record label Blood Music. Yesterday, two fifths of our schedule had something to do with the label, and that’s no simple coincidence. Blood Music have been picking up a ton of steam lately, with each year seeing more music releases from the label than the last.

Formerly, the label’s bread and butter came almost exclusively in the form of extremely limited one-time-only represses of “classic” records licensed from outside sources, but now Blood Music is shaping up its own roster of original artists to capitalize on their now dedicated fanbase. Perfect for business — “if you like these high profile releases from artists A and B, we’re also selling a record from new artist C that you may be interested in.”

Ah, the ol’ Blood Music switcheroo; I come for the progressive black and death metal, I stay for the cheesy 80’s-inspired retrofuturistic electronic music. Wait, what?

James Kent’s Perturbator may be a name you’ve never heard of before, but if you’ve heard about hit indie game Hotline Miami, you may be familiar with his music and not realize it. He contributed three tracks to the game’s soundtrack, and then later released a standalone EP titled Sexualizer in 2013 that was inspired by the game. If you’re the kind of dude who likes to wear his sunglasses at night, you’ll dig what Perturbator has to offer.

This year, Blood Music will be releasing his latest full length, Dangerous Days, and as you could imagine, the packaging for this release is gorgeous. Of course, not many of you will outright pay upwards of $40 for an electronic 2xLP based on packaging and previous work alone, so Blood Music teamed up with Bloody Disgusting (wow much blood) to premiere a new track from Dangerous Days titled ‘She Is Young, She Is Beautiful, She Is Next.’ Stream the track below.

Pre-orders for Dangerous Days begins on April 23rd, 10am EST, but will be released June 17th.
