Well here’s a surprise! Revocation, long time alumni at Relapse Records, have moved on, announcing that they have signed with Metal Blade Records.

The band are wasting no time in working on their Metal Blade debut, either. They’re already in the studio recording their fifth album, and have tapped producer Chris “Zeuss” Harris to take the helm of the new album sessions. This comes just eight months after the release of their celebrated self-titled album.

Will this change in environment change things for the group? Not likely at all. Zuess produced their Teratogenesis down, and this move probably has nothing to do with Relapse at all. Revocation are fast growing, and Metal Blade likely just offered a better deal when their contract ran up. It’s a very fitting label for sure, and it’s unlikely that the group will come off what many people are calling an opus to change things around too much. There’s no way the next record will be less than great.

If the group truly are in the midst of recording sessions, we can expect the new album out later this year. Be on the lookout for more information in the coming months, and be sure to catch them on tour with Whitechapel, Devildriver, Carnifex, Rivers of Nihil, and Fit For An Autopsy.
