Right now, you may not know who Herod are, but you will do soon. This Swiss three-piece are mining a groove so gargantuan and crushing with their sound that it’s hard to ignore, so consider this an advance warning of great music to come!
The group recently announced they would be teaming up with Danish label, Mighty Music, for the release of their debut album They Were None, which will be shifting tectonic plates come May 2nd. I’ve been lucky enough to hear a few tracks from the record and they’re a gloriously heavy mix of off-kilter sludgy riffing, the sort you’d get if Cult Of Luna went on a Meshuggah binge.
