Enjoy Some Soothing Trip-Hop With White Moth Black Butterfly’s ‘Certainty

certainty

White Moth Black Butterfly, you may remember, is the new solo project from none other than Dan Tompkins that explores more laid-back and electronic territory and features contributions from some fairly hefty names including  previous bandmate Acle Kahney of Tesseract and current bandmate Keshav Dhar of Skyharbor. The project recently released a new track by the name of ‘Certainty‘ and even gave it a visual accompaniment, which you can watch below:

The video, much like the music, is incredibly minimal and sparse, working together quite well. I’m a little out of my depth when it comes to music that isn’t made by a really angry, fat guy smashing his fists on a guitar, but ‘Certainty‘ is beautiful invoking the sounds of bands such as Massive Attack and, if nothing else, this is just another reason to believe that Tompkins is one hell of a vocalist. You can pick it up here from their bandcamp page for only a pound, which is a steal really.
