Meet Scar The Martyr, Featuring Members Of Slipknot, NIN, SYL and Darkest Hour

Scar the Martyr

You’ve probably heard rumblings of Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison’s upcoming project Scar The Martyr, featuring Jed Simon (Strapping Young Lad), Chris Vrenna (Nine Inch Nails), Kris Norris (Darkest Hour) and an unknown on vocals by the name of Henry Derek. The project apparently came together out of Jordison’s work between tours that followed a more ‘industrial and post-punk’ vibe that didn’t fit with his day-job. But today begins the hype train, with a teaser entitled ‘Teaser #2’. I’m not quite sure whether ‘Teaser #1’ actually exists in any way as I can’t find it, but the video contains Vrenna detailing his thoughts on the album and giving an insight into his contribution as keyboardist:

Sounds like an interesting project, for sure. The snippets of music scattered throughout  definitely give off that heavy industrial vibe, maybe indicating something like a Demanfacture style with a different vocal approach? Who knows. Keep an eye out for when the album drops later this year through Roadrunner.
