While on tour in UK, American sludge metal band Baroness were involved in a serious bush crash while in Bath at 11:30 AM BST (6:30 AM EST) this morning. ITV West has the news:
The American Band Baroness were on the tour bus which crashed and fell 30ft over a viaduct near Bath.
The incident happened at 11.30am at the junction of Brassknocker Hill and the A36, the fire service said.
A total of nine people were on the coach. Two were trapped and had to be rescued by firefighters.
Seven people have been taken to Royal United Hospital in Bath with what are thought to be relatively minor injuries. The two others have been taken to Frenchay Hospital in Brtistol with more serious injuries.
The band played at The Fleece in Bristol last night. They were on their way to Southampton when the accident happened.
It’s good to see that the majority of those on the made it through the crash with minor injuries, but our thoughts are with those two others who are in a more serious condition. Hopefully everyone pulls through this without much complication.
EDIT: 12:30 PM EST: The band’s publicist made the following statement:
Baroness were in a serious bus accident last night near Bath, England. The band members and crew are recovering at local hospitals. All tour dates are postponed until further notice.
More updates to come.
It’s good to see that everyone is making a recovery, it seems!
Not much else is known at the moment, but we’ll update this post when more information comes in.
