UPDATE [03/20, 1:40 PM]: The Summer Slaughter Tour have confirmed that JFAC and Periphery are officially on the bill!

UPDATE [03/19, 1:30 PM]: Metal Injection confirms that JFAC and Periphery are 100% on the bill. Rob was just at SXSW last week, so it’s very likely he ran into someone who knows the deal. Huzzah!

UPDATE: Metalsucks was told that the page in question didn’t appear to be the official Mayhem page. Even still, the lineup looks pretty legitimate considering the evidence. We’ll be sure to let you know when there’s an official announcement.

It looks like Summer Slaughter’s lineup had a few surprises after all. While we’ve been harping on and on for weeks about the rumored lineup, it turns out one of the leaked bands didn’t make it to the final cut. While Job For A Cowboy are making it out, Hate Eternal won’t be on the tour, it seems. Major sads, but you can’t win em all right?

Here’s the lineup, as announced (strangely enough) by Mayhem Festival. Hold on to your asses.

CANNIBAL CORPSE
BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME
JOB FOR A COWBOY
PERIPHERY
THE FACELESS
VEIL OF MAYA
GOATWHORE
FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE
EXHUMED
*FAN CHOSEN OPENER

Surprise! Periphery and Fleshgod Apocalypse from out of fucking nowhere! This tour is officially unmissable if this is true. A lot of the Cannibal Corpse fans will likely be pissed off over Periphery, but as Noyan put it to me, “Cannibal Corpse fans are always pissed.” Fair enough! I however, enjoy most of the bands on the tour. I don’t hate the ones I don’t enjoy either, so the show should be killer for me while everyone else is pouting.

I find it strange that The Faceless aren’t higher up on the bill than they are here, considering how predominately they’re featured on the teaser image and how they were direct support for Decapitated a couple of years ago. But then again, this year’s lineup is bigger.

The winners of the fan-voting contest are yet to be announced, but it looks like Pathology is (imo, unfortunately) going to win. I’m not excited about that at all (I was rooting for Vildhjarta and Fallujah. Hell, I’d settle for Cerebral Bore), but what can you do besides show up late or complain? If you’re like me, that’ll be your chance to get comfortable and browse some merch tables.

Dates are set to be available soon, and we’ll have them for you when they’re ready!
